We overnighted in the car park. We'd been pondering going round to Beinn 'a Chaorainn and climbing the East Ridge (which Mhairi has done before) but we took the easy option of another day's bluebird skiing. It was superb. Video here_Aonach Mor
I'm sure you've already been inspired/made jealous by the many amazing photographs on the web of the fabulous weather weekend at the end of February. I'd been hoping I'd get a day's winter climbing on the Friday, but couldn't find a partner, so Mhairi persuaded me to pack the skis for a day's skiing in the west. We eventually made it to Nevis Range and got afternoon tickets. This was probably fortunate as there were no queues, so we were skiing almost continuously. The weather and snow conditions were superb. We overnighted in the car park. We'd been pondering going round to Beinn 'a Chaorainn and climbing the East Ridge (which Mhairi has done before) but we took the easy option of another day's bluebird skiing. It was superb. Video here_Aonach Mor On Sunday we decided to head towards home and ascend the Pap of Glencoe. We thought that parking up at the "Lochans of Glencoe" car park would give us easy access to the open hillside and thence to the Pap, but in actual fact there was a bit of traversing round to find our way up to the easiest route up. this did provide us with some amazing views over Loch Leven. We had the pleasure of a little snow ascent before drinking in the magnificent scenery. Video here_Pap of Glencoe All in all a fabulous weekend in the Lochaber.
