One of the most memorable days of our stay at Ailefroide was an attempt at climbing Montagne des Agneaux from the Glacier Blanc Hut. The plan was that Mhairi, Andy W, Nigel, Jean and Cody would stay at the hut. Andy, Nigel and I would do the hill, whilst the girls would hunt (photographically) for marmots.
We were up at 3.00 am, but not at the head of the queue and were delayed at the technical section gaining the mountain's main ridge. This, combined with a serious deterioration in the weather, meant we abandoned the enterprise about 100 metres from the summit. Nevertheless a fantastic day out. I'll let the pictures tell the story...
